Southwest Antennas Part # 1065-028 and # 1065-029 are small form factor body worn antennas, designed for use with handheld or body worn MIMO / MANET or SISO radio systems. The polarization choices are Right or Left Hand Circular Polarization (RHCP / LHCP), which was chosen due to performance enhancements that circular polarization can offer in multi-antenna radio configurations, crowded RF / non line-of-sight scenarios, and improved performance in adverse weather conditions.
The Southwest Antennas products were developed in order to offer a high performance, rugged option for body worn antennas which was missing in the marketplace. Comparative testing performed by a third-party in a major metropolitan city (not an RF friendly environment) showed a significant performance improvement in MIMO radio performance vs. competitive solutions. The radome housing is extremely rugged and highly resistant to damage from drops, being stepped or jumped on, or other abuse making the product ideal for use in tactical law enforcement operations or other dynamic situations.
